Padding exp with Premium to rank up?

"Padding your XP gains will 1) rank you higher on the leaderboards and 2) greatly benefit your team."
What I want to know is if the exp statistics you use for the leaderboards will be based off the BASE amount of if you will include bonuses like the 50% premium boost to exp.
If you want the leaderboards to be fair and to actually reflect a persons level of skill then you need to rank based on the BASE exp earnt and not the exp earnt because someone has purchased a premium account.
Im pretty sure everyone else agrees with this as its the only fair way to rank players.
ie. Player one doesnt have premium and earns 500exp BASE in a match.
Player two plays slightly worse but has premium 50% boost to exp and earns 400exp BASE in a match (1.5x400=600exp with premium account)
Player one should be ranked higher than player two.

It's not pay to win, but more pay for recognition?
Maybe we can get an answer on this

I have nothing against pay to win or not pay to win.
I just want to shoot big robots but I never bought into this nonsense that MWO would have no pay for advantage. I think they are going to come as close as one could get while still making money.
Thanks for the clarification Paul.

Have the Devs dropped any clues as to how long it will take to reach top EXP levels? And I suspect if you are looking at the top end of the leaderboard, exp padding will not make a lick of difference after about 2 weeks. The kind of player that will reach the upper echelons of the leaderboard will be playing this game 12 horus a day and hit top level ASAP regardless.

1mil credits says it will be dominated by clans who find a way to game the system(only play matches against clanmates, let one guy get all the kills, etc).

Great point. Please post it in Suggestions. This needs to be seen.

Does it really matter who cares about it? It should be accurate otherwise there's no point in having one in the first place. Your apathy regarding the matter just because you (admittedly) won't be on the leaderboards is kinda sad. Attitudes like that don't benefit anyone.

No personal matches. You can control who you drop with, but not who you fight against.

Premium modifiers can be applied after the game is finished to your total EXP gain after the base value has been used for the score. I don't really see any complicated problems here.

Think of it as an incentive to pay for the game's premium time if you want an easier time of being at the top of the leaderboards. Otherwise win more and you'll be there anyway.

More data is better (within reason - I don't really need to know how many ML kills they got, but maybe someone wants that data. KIlls while using hula girls crosses the line).

I apologize for the confusion, that was actually a rhetorical question.
And I'm not apathetic towards leaderboards, I'm firmly against them. Assuming "leaderboard" means some sort of metagame element that keeps track of your global stats and ranks every MWO player against one another. If we're just talking about mission scoreboards, this post is moot.
Like Squigles said, they measure play time, not skill. It's a complete waste of resources, both in implementation and data tracking.
